Meeting Coffee

Yasemin states that coffee has had a place in her life for many years. She values her friends greatly, and coffee is the companion to their conversations. She adds, “It symbolizes a shared experience beyond just a material thing.”

Coffee Training and The Dose Coffee

“As I conducted my research on coffee, the increasing amount of information led me to seek a teacher. While I always felt I had to go to Istanbul for training, I heard about Incommon and Trent Rollings through Meqhanguru’s post. I got in touch and went to Sarısu.

As soon as I walked through the door, I knew I was in the right place. The coffees had been brewed when I arrived, they were poured into a cup, and the conversation began. After the chat, Trent asked, ‘Would you like to see the green bean room?’ and there he gave me a handful of beans to examine. When I held them out to return them, he said I could keep them. I’m currently keeping them in a box in the shop; connections with emotion are important to me.

Besides the training process being very enjoyable, they answered every question I asked with the same energy. One of the most beautiful things that unites us is that despite being two separate businesses in a worldly sense, we can look at the world from the same perspective, and thanks to this, we have a beautiful emotional bond between us.”

First Rush

“I have a structured approach to intensity, but since I was new to coffee, I was very excited at first. I think it was our 10th day of opening, and I was alone in the shop for about 3 days. And we had our busiest 3 days. All my stress disappeared during those 3 days. It was amazing to apply the training I had received. That rush between excitement and tension gave way to other beautiful feelings.”

Desserts and the Venue

“I love cooking. On my family's side, there were wonderful people with great skill in cooking. During the pandemic, while getting coffee training, I constantly tried recipes at home. It was the most intense and quite enjoyable kitchen time of my life. Before opening this place, I had certain feelings I discussed with our architect. Our goal here was to create a sincere and peaceful place where people feel good. We go through states like nature and people; we are a business that understands this, and people who can perceive this come here. That’s why I think we welcome each other beautifully.”
